New Hope UPS Store Sets Performance Record; Gets Selected for National Study

New Hope, PA - The UPS Store, located in Logan Square shopping center on Route 202, has been selected by UPS to participate in a live study directed at fast and cost-effective freight services. Long known as a “package carrier,” UPS has recently broadened its services by acquiring the freight company OVERNITE. In order to properly develop this new line of business, UPS has selected eight of its full service UPS Stores in the country to participate in the planning process.
 
A spokesperson for UPS corporate explained that The New Hope UPS Store was chosen to participate in the study because of its outstanding freight services performance in 2005.
 
“It is astonishing that the New Hope UPS Store ranked thirty-third out of five thousand locations in the world, all in its first full year of business,” stated Phinisha Owens of UPS. “This makes them our fastest growing freight business in the country, and possibly in the world. We absolutely need them to be part of this new program,” Owens added.
 
Vicky and David Child own the New Hope UPS Store, as well as the Mail Boxes Etc. in Buckingham Green. Freight shipments are performed by their proprietary Masterpiece Shipping Service. This segment of their business was born several years ago, to serve the needs of the many area antiques businesses to ship large, unwieldy, rare and costly items. The program has since evolved to include other types of items.

Both locations have become so adept at this specialized freight service that they’re setting some remarkably visible performance records for businesses of their size. “Our goal is also to set the bar a little higher for customer care and satisfaction, as well as breadth of services,” says David Child. Through such work, his expertise in specialized freight shipping has become recognized by his industry peers. He recently conducted freight shipment seminars in three states to others hoping to replicate the success of Masterpiece Shipping.
